Though friends and family probably jump at the chance to visit the stunning Lake Tahoe home, Zari Mansouri may not get many fishing partners!

Film buffs may recognize the location of Ms. Mansouri’s award winning home as the site of the ill-fated fishing trip in The Godfather II, from which Fredo does not return. As iconic as the Godfather may be, that alone is not what won over nearly 90,000 votes from WSJ readers.

Currently on the market for $6.499 million, Ms. Mansouri’s 4,100 square foot condo has undergone $3.5 million in renovations in three years. The home owner opted to tear down walls, create a double-side fireplace, optimize the sound capabilities for entertaining, and of course, create the most breath-taking views from as many parts of the home as possible. Even a full glass shower allows you to take in the lakeside views from the master bedroom!

Originally the home of industrialist Henry Kaiser in the 1930’s, this 15 acre compound on the western shores of Lake Tahoe now known as ‘Fleur du Lac Estates’ is comprised of 22 units, including Mansouri’s rehabbed retreat.  The condo association offers security, concierge-like service, and access to the luxurious Boathouse and Yacht Club for special events or parties.

No strangers to CEO’s and big-wig executives, the average price of a Lake Tahoe home on the western shore is $1,577,538, with the highest price home listed at a whopping $10,500,000.

While many people buy or rent residences here as a vacation home, Mansouri found herself traveling to the area so frequently that she purchased that home as her primary residence back in 2006.

Although the CEO is relocating to be closer to her Laboratory Skin Care office in San Francisco, Zari has enjoyed the ski town lifestyle as well as the privacy and quiet side of the western shores.
