If you’re a mom looking for a good workout that also provides a side dose of community and friends, look no further than Fit4Mom.

The Elmhurst program offers classes for moms with kids of all ages—from Fit4Baby Prenatal to Stroller Strides to Body Back.

At Stroller Strides, moms of babies and toddlers can work out alongside their babies, pushing, pulling, lunging while singing to and engaging with their kids, maybe even blowing a few bubbles while doing squats. It’s not a baby-and-me class by any means—it involves serious cardio, strength, and core work.

“We really provide a sense of community,” says Lesley Lehman, the owner of DuPage Fit4Mom and an Elmhurst resident. “In addition to amazing workouts, we offer playgroups, mom’s night out, and quarterly family events.”

But Fit4Mom is for moms with kids of ANY age. The Body Back class attracts moms of babies to moms of teenagers or older. “It doesn’t matter how old your kids are,” says Lehman. “A lot of times what happens is that when you’re your kids are older, you realize you never got that body back.”

The eight-week Body Back program meets twice a week, and each mom sets a personalized goal. The program includes before-and-after photos, physical assessments, and a nutrition component. “It’s really a lifestyle change for your family,” says Lehman.

The prenatal class continues Fit4Mom’s unique approach. Rather than a gentle aqua or yoga class, Fit4Baby is a true workout tailored to get heart rates up and give moms a good workout that is modified for their stage. Every class is personalized for attendees.

Lehman is passionate about Fit4Mom because she has experienced the benefits of the program. She was a client herself when her first daughter was a baby and she and her husband lived in the city. Joining the community offered her not only an amazing workout that she could do with her daughter, but also an amazing camaraderie of moms who were in her same situation.

When her family moved to the suburbs, she decided to quit her corporate job, and while on maternity leave with her second baby, she bought the Glen Ellyn and Wheaton franchises.

Lehman has only recently purchased the Fit4Life Elmhurst program, but it has been in Elmhurst for over three years. Her Glen Ellyn and Wheaton programs are the #4 franchise in the country. She has high hopes and big plans for Elmhurst as well.
