This year we have no shortage of 4th of July fun in the area!
To help you assess your options and plan accordingly, we’ve got the list of this year’s happenings, as well as where and when to catch fireworks:

Elmhurst 4 on the 4th
nyari_tuzi.jpgBurn a few calories before you load up your plate at the neighborhood BBQ or festival by joining the Elmhurst Running Club for a 4 mile run on Friday July 4th at 7:15 am.

Taste of Lombard
Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. July 4, Madison Meadow Park, 600 East Madison St.
$3 admission, kids 9 and under FREE! This extended event runs from Tuesday until Saturday.

Taste of Oak Brook
Fireworks at dusk on July 3, following Taste of Oak Brook at the Polo Grounds, off of 31st Street between Spring and York Roads
Kick things off a little early with live music, a petting zoo, food and drink vendors, and more, Thursday from 4 pm – 9 pm.

Naperville Ribfest
Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. July 4, Knoch Park, 724 S. West St.
George Thurgood, Blue Oyster Cult, Foghat, oh my! This festival packs an impressive rock line-up for Sunday July 6.

Chicago Bison BBQ
July 5th at Frontier 1072 N Milwaukee Ave
Stray from boring beef patties and try some exotic Bison offerings paired with craft beer samplings.

Navy Pier Fireworks
If you’re heading into the city for the 4th, you can picnic in Grant Park and take in the fireworks show, 9:30 p.m.  July 4.

Taste of Lakeview
3200 N Lincoln Ave
Admission is free ($5 donation requested). Enjoy food, drinks, family activities, entertainment and craft vendors July 5th – 6th.

Windy City Ribfest in Uptown
Lawrence & Broadway, Chicago
In keeping with the strong BBQ traditions of 4th of July weekend, get your fix at a different Ribfest, and enjoy entertainment Friday through Sunday, including Chicago-area “The Voice” contestant and popular favorite, Jamie Lono on Saturday.
